Junior Scout Regular nabs the Huskie of the Week award after a top finish at the Badger Invitational

By Northern Star Sports Staff

DeKALB – Junior Scout Regular continued her dominant season for NIU women’s track and field when she won the 60-meter hurdles for the third time this season at the Badger Invitational.

This season, Regular is the top-ranked woman athlete in the Mid-American Conference for the 60-meter hurdles, and she continued that trend this weekend, picking up another win in the event with a time of 8.59 seconds.

Regular has been the model of consistency this season in the hurdles event, as she has finished in the top three for the 60-meter hurdles every meet this season.

Two other Huskies, fifth-year Kadeja Campbell in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.78 seconds, and senior Christine Irving in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.22 seconds, closed out the last meet of the indoor season prior to the MAC Indoor Championships with wins in their respective events.

NIU women’s track and field will compete on Friday through Saturday in Bowling Green, Ohio, at the Perry Field House.

Next week’s Huskie of the Week will be announced on Feb. 27.

The Northern Star Huskie of the Week is voted for on a weekly basis. Student-athletes considered for this week’s edition were chosen based on their performance in competitions taking place from Feb. 6 to Feb. 12.
