DeKALB – Junior setter Ella Mihacevich has been named the Northern Star’s Huskie of the Week after serving as a major contributor to NIU’s two wins at the NIU Invitational this past weekend.

The Huskies bested the University of Rhode Island Rams 3-1 to open the tournament Friday. NIU registered a shutout victory over the University of Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles on the following Saturday.

Mihacevich opened the weekend stretch with a double-double, recording 35 assists and 16 digs. She followed up her Friday performance with a 36-assist, seven-dig outing against the Screaming Eagles on Saturday.

Next week’s Athlete of the Week will be announced on the evening of Sept. 26.
